What I don’t get is the other bit. Their balance sheet is woeful and they’re not exactly cash generative. Buyers like that are not in for the long term they will look for an exit. The good news for them is the salary cap going means it’s not quite so urgent to get up this season - next season will do. The bad news for them is their new owner won’t understand football properly either and is definitely not in it for the long haul. They should look to the management structure and club governance first off, and strategies around youth and community engagement, as well as the first team. And for pity’s sake give Portman Road a lick of paint.
I’m also a little confused as to why anyone looking to invest that sum in a Tier Three club would go for scum, but still. I don’t think it’s going to be what they hope but honestly it can’t be much worse than what Evans has made them into so *shrug*
