That was the office for the coal depot until Sedgwick’s (Marsh) took it over in about 1980

I think that the only reason it hasn’t been demolished is that there’s no need to as you cannot put anything in its place.

It did get in the way of and block my ex-bosses work in the afternoon (he never looked out of the office window in the morning as otherwise he wouldn’t have anything to do in the afternoon!) - I left Sedgwick’s in 1987 and he’s probably dead by now but I remember this being his daily work routine!
