Look - it's simple.

Winning today means we have almost certainly made the play offs although we haven't actually got enough points yet but there's no chance we'll go on a terrible run and not make the play offs so winning today probably wasn't critical but if we hadn't we'd still be all but certain of making the play offs because it's incredibly unlikely we'll go on a terrible run.
