Pretty conclusively it wasn't the right gamble to take.

Some things are down to chance (eg individual match results)

The steady decline and malaise there won't be fixed by throwing the dice on a managerial appointment. Whole club needs an overhaul.

Which is why ditching Paul won't offer more than a short term fillip.

And ditching Evans won't suddenly magic up infrastructure. There needs to be a cogent plan of what happens next.
