Because basically he is making a mockery of Golf Courses, many of which....

....were built well over a century ago. Technological improvements in equipment (clubs and balls) mean that even the longest par 5 is little more than a pitch and putt for the very top players, many of whom have 'beefed up' to hit the ball miles. What the Governing bodies are trying to do now is restrict some of the equipment changes (and the way rules arounding Golf clubs and equipment is interpreted) to try and bring back a bit more of a level playing field.

What is equally interesting is that The Masters Golf Tournament is now saying all competitors must play with the same standardised Golf Ball....(well not the same one obviously)
