Isn't this more or less the Marcus Evans model?

I'd say Ipswich is the poster boy for this model going badly.

While in the EPL it's all rosy, there's enough cash to invest in the playing squad with the safety net of the big backer sitting behind in case anything goes wrong. No need for £40m sitting in the bank.

It's what happens if they are relegated that's a problem. The backers would need to fund the initial cash shortfall, more debt, more interest due, if they don't get promoted again immediately, more cash needed, more debt etc etc.

It's a great model if it works as it gives Burnley the opportunity to grow, if it doesn't work, it's a disaster.

My view is it's not worth the risk and many Norwich fans (not referring to anyone on here) don't know how lucky we are to have Delia and Michael acting as stewards - no ego, just trying to do what is best for the long term future of this wonderful club.
