We got him in Germany and it was a real struggle as we had been to see him every weekend for 2 months as that was the stipulation at the last minute the director of the rescue home said she didnt want the dog to go to a "Britisher" and refused to talk to us. Wife and kids distraught so I eventually cajoulled the handler to let me plead my case to the director and eventually convinced her we were the people that would love the dog and give him the best home and he would not be "back in ze rescue home vithin a jahr". We all loved him so much and eventually we brought him home to Britain and he is buried down the garden under the shade of the pear tree and I still miss my little pal 10 years on.
