When I buy new cycling gear I always buy the same colour so the missus doesn't realise...

Sometimes she'll say "Are you still wearing that old thing you've had it ages" and that'll give me a green light to buy new stuff.

And I'll be able to spend a bit more than usual because the old piece of kit has lasted so long.
