So the EC president goes in the media and publically states that there

are no "Best Efforts" obligations in their contract with AZ before 3 hours later the EU publish the contract which shows that all the obligations are "Best Reasonable Efforts."

Interesting approach from the EU here which has made her look a little silly.

Nothing in that contract that says that doses made in the UK "have" to be diverted to the EU. Clearky doses "can" be made in the UK under that contract but there is actually an obligation to try and manufacture them in the EU.

That said some leverage possibly in the fact AZ warranted they have not entered into any other conflicting agreements and I suppose if its true that our contract gives us first dibs on UK manufactured doses then it could be argued that there is a conflict although AZ';'s approach that they are 3 months behind in the process does seem reasonable.

There will be some settlement here i'm sure that sees some acceleration in their doses but its certainly not "crystal clear" as she has claimed.
