I think they were speaking spanish iirc

so I think it's pretty ridiculous to try and attribute English nuances to something conversed in spanish.

tbf I still think he's a tosser, but I'm 100% convinced he's not a racist. They're quite an enlightened bunch in Uruguay I've always found. Not that racism doesn't exist, but it's a lot rarer than in Europe
