As loathe as I am to do so, the Govt desrves quite a bit of credit for many of the things it has tried to do - even the stuff that didn't come off or wasn't really needed in the end (Nightingales, the ventilator programmes).

My experiences of the testing programme is that it is first rate (we've always had results back within 24 hours of booking the appointment). I've been inviolved in some PPE and testing procurements which (whilst they have been a bit slow to get off the ground) show that Govt is backing businesses to get things going at an ambitious rate.

Getting the vaccines both procured *and* rolled out is almost as good as the job Israel has managed IMHO.

Even the stuff that hasn't been so great isn't all that dissimilar to what our cousins on the continent have been experiencing, I don't think there is any European country that I can think of that has done a better job in the round.

Johnson is still a cockwomble though!!
