I hear every now and then a pundit saying that the UK is “top of the league table for death rates”. Nick Robinson just said it to the vaccines minister on Today and he didn’t protest. But all the usual sources say that Belgium has the highest death rate eg User Posted Link
Is it that the pundits are using “top” loosely, because obviously we are *near* the top? But that seems unlikely. Or is it some other stat and if so what?
