Their problems run much deeper than Lambert

They have no youth setup to speak of at all, they don't own their own ground, they owe a very tidy sum to Evans but even if he waived it any new owners would need to invest substantially just to get the usual infrastructure for a mid-table championship side in place. Plus buy them some players of course. The same amount of money would probably buy said new owners a bigger club with fewer problems and a more recognisable brand for marketing tie-ins and whatnot instead. I mean they can't even be bothered to give Portman Road the odd lick of paint once in a while. There's just an atmosphere of decay and perpetual decline.

Which is sad for them.

Oh well.
