I think Root has improved a lot as a captain in the last year but

He does have a tendency to bowl his best bowlers in tandem for long spells and then release the pressure by bowling a couple of bowlers who are not really “on it” in tandem.

I quite like Leach but as soon as he brought Bess on today it was like the pressure was all lifted on the batsmen. In fairness he not really got great options today. Put Stokes back in this side and an in form Mo and it looks a bit different.
