I don't agree

It's hardly a failure of the model if there's a major impact from the pandemic. A lot of less well-run clubs will face even bigger impacts. Those with sugar daddies/mummies will be insulated to some degree, but having far richer owners than we have is no guarantee of success - just look towards the wrong end of the A140. Our owners care passionately about the club. I don't agree with every decision they take but I'd take our model, with all its limitations, over being some disinterested playboy/playgirl's toy any day.
