Yeah, I'd have loved him to have committed to the club for the long term

But, in hindsight, I think he'd taken us as far as he could.

It's clear that the team he had around him and the backing he had from our board and from McNally all helped in the success we had.

One thing that I do remember quite clearly was he was quite successful in bringing in (and shipping out) supporting players - we were well stocked for strikers who would chip in with goals to flank Holt's contribution.

We did that well with Rhodes the year we went up and it's what we'll need to do if we're going to succeed again next year (in whichever division)
