I do feel that some people are blowing out of proportion the difficulties that a new man will have in turning around our current sides fortunes.
We appear to have signed some crap players. Or have we? Are they really crap or is it just our club that are making them crap?
Robinson. Ok, not the youngest but he has been part of 2 recent Championship winning teams in Pompey and Sunderland.
Hughes. Ok, not good but a versatile, squad player.
Etuhu. Lazy, but has shown when he was at PNE that he could boss the midfield at times. Didn't do it often enough, but the talent would appear to be there, it is just a case of someone getting the most out of him.
Colin. I thought he looked a very tidy player, with great pace when he first joined, however he seemed to have the confidence drained out of him later on and when before he used to pass the ball very well he resorted to the hoof.
MLJ. Not good enough for right back on the evidence i have seen but could be a decent player on the right side of midfield.
Thorne. I really don't know about this one. Good previous record but getting on a bit now.
Lets not forget that we are likely to see a few players depart the club in the summer.
Brennan has gone, Charlton is going, as is Ward.
I think Green will go and for a couple of million.
For me you could get shot of Hendo and maybe Jarvis as well.
JJ2 and Rehman could also be returned to sender.
So there is quite a bit of manouverability in the transfer market for a new manager when you look at the situation.
A new manager could take advantage of the season long loan market as well and a good manager (such as Boothroyd) doesn't need masses of money to make a success of a team.
Your thoughts?
