It's Twelfth Night today

So obviously all the decorations come down, but in my family there is also a tradition that all the "Christmas" food has to be eaten by the end of the day as well

Normally this is not an issue because we have a large houseful at Christmas, but this year obviously not - and yet everyone kept cooking in the hope that somehow a gathering would be possible, but it never was

Which means that tonight (after a stock-take) supper is 37 sausage rolls, a pack of smoked salmon, 16 quails' eggs, 24 cheese sables, about quarter of a stilton, half a brie roughly the size of a frisbee, 19 mince pies (15 home made, 4 Mr Waitrose), half a pannetone, some dates stuffed with marzipan and a box of chocolate truffles

Wish me luck, gentlemen
