....they've done a fair bit better, at least so far.

Scotland has had (cumulatively, since the whole thing began) about 4,500 excess deaths (ie above what you'd have expected on average). That's about 85 'extra' deaths per 100k of population.

England has had about 66,000 excess deaths - that's about 115 deaths per 100k of population.

In terms of cases, we're also doing a fair amount worse in England at the moment than in Scotland - we have approx 360 new cases per 100k of population over the past 7 days, vs about 265 in Scotland.
