Whereas the imaginary player standing skill watching his teammate dribble into the box didn't.
Why do the rules say something explicit about a touch by an opposing player this "A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent." and nothing about a touch by your team mate.
If the rule was as simple as a touch by a teammate who was onside brings you onside then surely it would say that?
