Aly Dia - phoned up Graeme Souness pretending to be George Weah's cousin. Had already been turned down by Port Vale - John Rudge later said "The lad was rubbish". Souness had him on trial for a week, ignored the fact that he didn't exert himself in training, then threw him on for 50 minutes of a Premiership game. Dia later played 3 games for Gateshead before being released.
