I haven't done that one but have done some other big group rides - LeJoG (3 times), Pyrenees and the Alps - so, looking at the web, the number of people will provide plenty of momentum in itself. If it is 300km (as stated) then you should be fine - its not the most arduous terrain. Any cyclist will tell you to get plenty of miles in beforehand - aiming for a mix of short hard pedalling (ie flat out -ish) and also gentler, longer rides to build up mileage.
If you enjoy cycling and want to do something then there is (almost) no cycle ride you cant do. Although the 1200KM Paris-Brest-Paris might be a bit much. It has a strict time limit (4 days like London-Paris) so you only have time to cycle and sleep by the side of the road! But it only happens every 4 years - so plenty of time to get fit!
