...there is competition for places coming through now

Rather than the XI on the pitch being our only options, those underperforming, through tiredness or form, can be swapped out and they know it will happen.

Marco/Dowell
Martin/Todd
Gibson/Zimbo (soon)
etc.

Still loads to come back too - will be interesting to see what happens early January as that will probably indicate which players are not gonna come back as soon as hoped (Byram?)
