Daniel Farke's thoughts ahead of Wednesday night's game against Nottingham Forest.
-----------------------------------------------------------
DF: There will be some late calls. I can confirm Ben Gibson (calf) will be out for the game. He will be out for two weeks. Placheta (hamstring) will also be out. It will be a similar time frame. Two weeks.
DF: That is what you have to expect working in this business, especially when you have not had a summer break and no pre-season. And then we send our players into an international break, with not two games but sometimes three games and for international friendlies. You also need a bit of luck with contact injuries. Adam Idah, Kieran Dowell and Onel Hernandez had problems with contact injuries.
DF: It was a great to have our supporters back in. We did have a pilot project where one thousdand we allowed in and I was surprised then by how loud they were. They took a responsibility to shout for us and make it feel like we had a full stadium.
DF: Football is a game for supporters, it is a game for human beings and we need them back as soon as possible. It is great to have them back.
DF: First of all we have shown it many time that each and every game is very difficult. I don't judge Nottingham Forest on their position now, I judge them by their potential. They are still challengers for the top six. They have an experienced coach and I think they are one of the best teams in the offence in the league. It is just a question of time until they start an unbeaten run. It is not if more when.
DF: We have (Zimbo) and Alex Tettey who can play in this position. He (Ben Gibson) will be out for two weeks. The resonsibility for some others to shine and make sure we are defensively solid. It is a bit more pressure and load for Christoph Zimmermann. He has looked unbelievably sharp in training. Mario (Vrancic) has enough time to recover and should be okay.
DF: Todd Cantwell has been involved in part of the team training since Sunday. We have a training session today and if he is able to play in that then he will be back in the sqaud. We will also try to bring back Kenny McLean, Kieran Dowell and Jordan Hugill back on the pitch. It will be much too soon for them to be back in the matchday squad. So, just one training session for them, will not be enough for them to be involved in the matchday squad.
DF: (Rupp and Krul). I don't think for Rupp to be involved at the weekend or the following midweek. For Tim Krul we hope and wait for him that he is capable to train. He won't be involved in the game tomorrow
DF: (on Max Aarons on 100 games) Max is an outstanding player on many topics. I can't praise him enough for what he has done since his first game. From this moment he has been improving and growing on a dialy basis. To see his devlopment as a person as well is great. He is unbelievably humble and keeps his feet on the ground. He was named as one of the best young players in this league recently and I said he is not a young player anymore because he is getting to 100 appearances. That is now an experienced player even though he is still very young. There is still even more to come. He knows he can work on his end product to assist a bit more and to score a bit more.
DF: Since Chris (Hughton) took over they have had some unbelievably bad look with injuries. You can see his handwriting because of their attacking play. The team is struggling a bit but they have quality and with his leadership and knowledge, it is just a question of time until they start a really good run. I have them as still a competitor for the top six. We know we have to be fully focused and fully switched on against them.
DF: (on scoring from set-pieces) Yes, we definitely need this. We need to score from all positions. It is definitely a topic we work on and hopefully we can show this over the next few weeks.
DF: The young lads are great. I have to priase them. It is a good sign when you bring in a young player and he is available to deliver. To be there and to get the ball and to go for the corner flag. I praised (Tyrese Omotoye) him in the analysis meeting for this because I told him before that in this situation he shouldn't be too greedy. He should go for the corner flag and not give them a throwing or a goal kick so we can press them. It is great when the young players listen like this.
DF: When I think about last season Jordan Thomas, Akin Famewo had their debuts at Manchester City. They know they have a club that trust them, but they still have to work hard. There are no gifts. They have to work incredibly hard, but once they are ready and prepared we will play them.
