The problem is that actions very rarely get reported

look at all the anti-racism work Millwall FC do in the community. Only ever gets mentioned as a footnote to the latest news story about their racist fans.

It's an age old problem - not just about racism, but in all areas of "news". Grassroots good deeds are generally not "interesting" to news editors or the public.

You can do lots of community work that may help a fairly small number of people, and may even change a few minds. But it won't filter through to people who are simply racist, and have probably been brought up to be racist.

But I totally get Ferdinand's point - can you really do it forever? We're not clapping for carers anymore. We don't protest against food poverty every week, we don't wear rainbow laces every week.
