They just followed the same approach as used at the Preston trial event

At the Preston game they trialled the attendance of 1,000 spectators all sat in one stand. Its purpose was to see the most effective way of safely getting supporters in and out of a stadium which in terms of Covid transmission is the most risky aspect. That was deemed by everyone to be a success. You don't then just throw away all the lessons learned and decided to spread supporters all around the ground. That would be totally irresponsible.
