"spent hardly anything on players"

Our wage bill for the last two seasons combined (the overwhelming amount of which goes on players) was £143m. We made a combined loss for those two seasons (which includes the Prem season) of about £30m.
Staggering that in this day and age there are still people who equate transfer fees to money spent.
