Having professionally seen first hand what happens when large, well funded governments with an agreed common aim try to make relatively straightforward things happen, the idea of them trying to do some difficult thing a) at all and succeeding under any reasonable interpretation of that word, and b) in secret without anyone finding out except a few brave internet souls who, while they may technically not have passed much actual science at school, nonetheless can see through the web of lies/chemtrails/5G/TRUMP WON/Qanon/Gates injecting us with barcodes (like, wtf)/masks give you cancer/the truth is a lemon meringue/the earth is flat/Freemasons/Bavarian Illuminati/Soros/jumpers for goalposts isn't it, though, really?
They've done the sensible thing, gone to your actual scientists and said you do the difficult thing and here's all the resources you need and let them get on with it. I've also worked as a scientist, though not in this field, and what has been achieved - in particular the mRNA paradign - is remarkable and shows what happens when we put proper focus on breakthroughs. I personally would like to see that kind of focus put on a few other things on top but that's just socialism gone mad and I'm a fool and that.
