I think champions league is the top stage, in terms of quality

and la liga clearly had the best teams for a while (hence why they kept winning the champions league)

so I'd say he did stand out on the very highest level, year after year.

Agreed to a certain extent, but his performances for Arg have been sadly lacking too often
