I have forgotten 95% of games I’ve been to, it’s the weird ones I remember

Mostly if they are high scoring or something odd happened, like the 4-4 draw with Rotherham, or when Sean Gregan scored from the halfway line for PNE in 2001. Gillingham 4-3 Norwich at a rainy Priestfield? Yes I remember that.

I was going through some old programmes with my oldest son, he was talking about grounds I hadn’t been too, and in comedy timing I said I had never been to St Andrew’s, only for him to pull a programme out from Birtmingham City. It was 1-1 in 2004, Huckerby scored. I remember nothing, not the game, the ground, the journey (which was by train as the ticket is still there), walking in Birmingham to the ground. Nothing.
