In a way, he's right

There's more than one way to be successful, but if you have limited resources, players with limited skills and limited imagination then playing a lot of big, strong and, dare I say, dirty runners is one way of upsetting more skilled opposition. It's nothing new of course, Leeds were the finest exponents of this style in the 70s (despite having some very good players) - indeed, nearly every team played this way at the time. There's probably been examples in all eras and certainly has been since Leeds (Wimbledon, Leeds under Wilkinson (hmmm), Bolton, Germany ever since they beat Hungary in '54, etc.)

It'll not win any friends and may only bring a modicum of success (ala Bolton) because the clubs with highly skilled players will always win anyway, but, equally, one is almost doomed to failure trying to make a bunch of big, strong, dirty and talentless oafs player pretty football.

I know which side I'm on and I think I know which side Worthy is on.
