Indeed.
It's probably at the core of why I really *hate* the idea that any success is now only possible with a moneybags backer. And even then unlikely in the current setup.
It's barely sport anymore. But it's why I'm comfy with how were going about it.
Endgame for pro football looks pretty bleak to me at the moment.
As I grew up 4hours from Carrow Road ,I spent much of my youth watching the local non-league team,which was great fun. You could meet your mates in the ground,circulate,switch ends to heckle the oppo keeper (and get a better view of our goals, match).
Depressingly money even impacted at that level -firstly getting blocked from promotion due to ground redevelopment not being completed in time,then being shocked at how the ticket price had rocketed to £15 (twenty years ago!!!!).
Even still, there's a part of me that thinks that if the top six do sod off that it might (after some readjustment) make the actual sport a bit more fun again.
