Press news in...

It's press conference day! Hear the thoughts of head coach Daniel Farke from 1.30pm.
------------------------------------------------------------------

DF: Xavi is sadly out for tomorrow. Good news with the scan, it's only a matter of days. No blood in the muscle.

DF: Zimbo is out tomorrow but he's been training since Wednesday with us. He's been out for a while but I don't want to rush him. Grant Hanley and Ben Gibson are alright so we won't take any risk with him.

DF: Josh Martin will have an individual session today and back in team training Sunday. Not available for tomorrow.

DF: All okay elsewhere. Jacob Sorensen had cramp late on Tuesday but he's sorted. We had one more day in comparison to the game before to recover. All good.

DF: It's easier when you have specialist to bring it. Jacob didn't make it a problem though [coming in at left-back]. He played really well and he's an option again. Bali Mumba is more like a natural full-back, more on the right side. He's looked sharp.

DF: Max Aarons has also played there, Lukas Rupp as well. Jacob was the right choice for the last game and we will see tomorrow.

DF: We are flexible. We could switch formation. But it's also important that we don't always have to change our whole setup when one player is out.

DF: It was risky to throw Jacob in on Tuesday. We know Jacob is very good but you cannot regard the circumstances when you throw him in. It's not his natural position and it may have been a more reliable solution to bring someone else there.

DF: If you are a smart player, it definitely makes sense to play a right-footed player on the left side. I trusted Jacob and he paid me back.

DF: After watching the game back, I was even more happy with the first-half than I was straight away. The first 15 minutes, we were brilliant. The mistake cost us a little bit. But even in the last 10 minutes, we gained control back.
Overall, it was a good point. We played sides below us in the table before that, Birmingham have had clean sheet since playing us. It shows how dominant we were against them.

DF: 10 points in four games - no other team has won more recently. It was good for our self-confidence to score so late.

DF: To move the ball quick and be accurate in passing is our most important aim. Against Wycombe and Birmingham, we needed to mvoe the ball quicker. But in terms of passes made, no team has made more.

DF: Against Brentford, we could have played a bit quicker. But then when we did that, we lost the ball for a goal. Sometimes it's better to take two touches, and that helps you play quicker as you have the ball under control more.

DF: The momentum in the Championship changes a lot but it's definitely been a good start for Bristol City, they are a dangerous side. We want to win games and we want to travel back with the points. We know the strengths of Bristol City. They are a direct side and have created lots of chances in the first few games. It's going to be a difficult away game.

DF: They have a few players out injured but they have a few proven, quality Championship players in their squad. We have to be respectful.

DF: Each and every game at this level is important. Tomorrow, it would be another valuable three points. We want to extend our unbeaten run to five games. But it's not like a final, but we won't uninterpretate too much into this game.

DF: The league compared to two years isn't too different but our situation is different. Two years ago, everyone was talking about Leeds, Aston Villa etc. But this season, everyone is talking about us. Our reputation has grown and therefore it's more difficult for us to be successful.
But it's been good to see us grind out results early on.

DF: I don't like to complain about the schedule too much. Many more people are struggling more than us. But for the coaching staff it's very exhausting at the moment. It's very drying becuase after every game, even if it's a win, you're already thinking about the next one because it comes so quickly. There's lot of media, too. We always have to analyse.

DF: There are few days off. But I'm grateful for my coaching staff and their work at the moment.

DF: I take all the rules how they are. I don't take too many strong thoughts on the rules. We could have a bigger squad and more subs but it doesn't make sense why we did it in project restart but not now. We have more games now!

DF: Across Europe, every club uses it but we don't.

DF: When you ask a player if they want to play, they will always say 'yes'. As a coach, you have to read between the lines. But we are professional with the data we have here. We do tests with our sports science team every day and we try not to overload the players too much.

DF: I can't ask for more support from my backroom team. They look into every detail and they make sure the players aren't too tired.

DF: All in all, I'm pleased with Ben and Grant. Our conceded goal average is under one. Obviously, I would love a clean sheet every game. But it's not easy for them. They were out for a long time and their rhythm has been interrupted. When I judge their performances, they've done really well.

--------------------------------------------------------------

DF: That's all from the City head coach. More to come on canaries.co.uk in the build-up to City's game against Bristol City tomorrow.
