I'm not suggesting there are no treatments or never will be

I'm saying that if you're pinning all you hopes on a vaccine, you need to take account of how in/effective it will be, for how long it will remain effective, how available it will be, how many people will agree to take it, and so on - and all of that has to be taken into account when taking preventative measures which we know cause harm (as well as preventing some harm) - not sure why this causes you so much angst frankly
