People on here always call out racism as they tend to do everywhere in my experience

People though have different views on issues such as whether (fairly common) words that have been used for hundreds of years and which originally had no racist connotations should be banned because they are perceived by some (often not black themselves) people to have racist connotations.

Or indeed whether the fact that BAME people are suffering more at the hands of Covid is a result of racism or a wide range of different characteristics and circumstances that exist.

Nothing wrong with having a debate on that or indeed even disagreeing about it. Thats not being racist.

Personally, i am pretty uncomfortable with the notion (which is where we seem to be at now) that something someone has said is racist because someone somewhere takes offence and percieves it to be racist regardless of the context, intent or indeed historic meaning of the word. If you are going to label someone a racist (which these days ends careers and can destroy people) then I think there needs to be evidence of intent or at the very least recklessness.
