I'd possibly agree if

The shelters weren't bursting at the seams and the dog breeding industry was properly controlled.

Any imbecile can put two dogs in a room and let them f**k. Then they're often desperate to shift the litter they'll let them go to completely unsuitable homes. Those people then dump them on the shelters when they realise a puppy becomes a dog, if the dog is lucky. If it's unlucky with it's new owner or doesn't get purchased, well, we don't need to go there.

Dog breeding is a largely cruel and immoral business. It's been proven beyond doubt time and time again.
