Unfortunately it's not that straightforward

My work pc has to be upgraded every 3 years. This is due to the fact that hardware rapidly increases in performance year on year and to stay competitive whilst utilising optimisation of latest software it's a no brainer. I'd love to be able to stick with it like my home pc (8yrs old now) but in an age of rapid innovation you leave to keep up and keep efficiency as high as possible especially when margins are small
