I used to have a mate

Who for years would say open ended clever comments and nod to himself in self congratulatory way without ever really explaining himself. We were all younger and he seemed clever and enlightened. He was cool, he played the guitar, we looked up to him.

Years down the line we found a 'book of quotes' under a pile of New Musical Express magazines in his toilet. Every smart ass learned line he'd ever come out with was in this book. Transpires he used to fill up on this stuff while having a dump. He very much became a subject of ridicule as we all got older.

Explain yourself, don't be that person.....
