Just heard the incredible story of Robert Smalls

Maybe related to Huge not sure. Anyway back in 1862 Robert Smalls was a slave that was pressed into service on a Confederate warship crewed by black men and white officers. The white officers used to go ashore in the evening to visit their families. As a joke one of his fellow crew mates put the Captains hat on Smalls head and this was the genesis of the idea that Smalls would sail yhe Confederate ship without the Officers and with his enslaved family out of the harbour, up the river and past all the confederate forts and surrender to the Union Navy, and to freedom. I wondered why this hadnt been made into a movie but I see it is currently under way. Amazing story User Posted Link he later went on to be Captain of that ship and a politician.
