Most teams that play wing backs don't play with 3 'traditional' CBs though

Arsenal this season have Tierney playing there and even when they played the system under Wenger they used Monreal. Guardiola has often used Ferbandinho. You don't need three big lumps at the back - a FB or DM type is usually more mobile than a traditional CB so makes for a better mix.
