We didn;t need loads of expensive signings. As you can see we have

£100m worth of talent in the squad that clubs want to sign. We only needed to supplement them with a couple of decent additions. Of those 5 only really Cantwell has emerged during our premier league season. Ok the others wouldn't be worth quite so much but if you look at what Brentofrd and Forest have got for their players this summer they probably wouldn't have been worth a lot less.

To be honest if the club said to the fans "we intend to spend a bit but it will mean if we go down we have to make a couple of major sales" then I think most fans would say fair enough i'd rather take the calculated gamble than die wondering.These are young players with obvious talent. Its not like being stuck with Naismith.

But now we are selling them anyway, without having given it a go to stay up at all.

I do accept, by the way that this is ultimately due to t he constraints of our ownership (although even operating within those constraints I think we could have done more).
