thing i dont understand from the messages below

is the idea that we'll bring more players in to replace the ones that leave. but we did that first. (gibson for godfrey, quintilla, dowell etc.) we always knew the big names were going to leave. the smart thing was bringing players in before people knew how much money we'd brought in, and that we were desperate. but we're not gonna bring a whole load more in.
