Maybe if we lived in a better society we'd have less mental health issues and crime etc

prevention rather than cure.

Bad stuff happens when things are properly funded from the outset. Either pay to prevent, or pay to fix.

Also, one day you or people you know might need support, just remember that (you're not immune, no one is) ;-)
