I like to think i'm always able to have a conversation with someone on a topic even if I don;t agree with their views and appreciate we just think differently on the subject. I don't think they are a c**t because of it (I reserve that view for football related enemies).
However some people just seem absolutely convinced that anyone who thinks differently to them on a particular issue is just wrong and in many cases a c**t who is not worth listening to.
I listened to a very interesting radio discussion recently involving an ex National Front member and an ex Islamic extremist, both of whom are now de-radicalised and with one of the absolutely key factors in their de-radicalisation being that they had somehow been put in contact with each other, started talking to each other on the phone about their views, met up and had ended up providing each other with more support than their respective friends were able to give them. I know some would say that extremists of any type will always have things in common but the point was through discussing things in a civil way they were able to change each other;s point of view.
