I remember seeing Bentley Rhythm Ace at the Waterfront, the support act was terrible

Probably 1997?
The support act were Element, two blokes who looked like Status Quo roadies playing bland techno house off a laptop and a mixer on a podium. The podium had a big neon sign with the band name. After no applause and a few people telling them to get off, the act suddenly finished where one of them purposely pointed at their neon sign, if we didn’t know who they were.
Bentley Rhythm Ace in the other hand were good.
