International October 5 national October 16

I don't know if any of you remember the Webber interview when he said that in previous seasons the club absolutely needed to sell a player by the deadline to essentially keep the club afloat?

I was wondering how many Champ / L1 / overseas clubs will be in this position due to COVID. They will absolutely need to sell their crown jewels in order to keep afloat.

I can see a fair bit of activity in the last few days/weeks of the window. Teams keep their stars for the start of the season but finances force a cascade of sales toward the end.

So I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Emi, Todd and Max head off being replaced by quality but good value buys from cash-strapped clubs.

The other point that I have in the back of my mind is the points based immigration system we will see in the winter transfer window. I can see young non-EU players who do not have the caps to get EU work permits getting enough Boris points to allow the club to hire them. So rather than spunking cash now on decent Champ / L1 players we could look at some eg 18. year old Brazilian wonderkid who cant quite get into the national team
