I think it's easier for us to recruit into the championship

Than the Prem for a couple of reasons.

Young players like dowell, skipp and idah have a bit more space to grow at this level (which is still tough). Small mistakes are punished much more in the Prem which can encourage cautious play.

When recruiting into the Prem, agents add a zero (which, to be fair, is their job). You're paying ten times as much, but not getting ten times the player.

In both instances it makes sense for us to grow our own (which can include loans, as, even without options to buy, that can be negotiated later if a player wants it). If we can retain some of our talent pool from last year (also having identified what didn't work) that puts us in a decent position if we can get up again.

The recruitment does look a notch up again (adding pace and bite in midfield, I think dowell will add some creativity too once settled in, although I suspect he's insurance for a buendia departure)
