I haven't read it, but Football Against The Enemy by Simon Kuper is supposed to be good

There's also one with Orange in the title about Dutch Football. I seem to remember reading a review of a book about Garrincha, the brilliant little Brazilian with bowed legs. Died an alcoholic and pauper with about 50 kids if I recall correctly.
