Does anyone else here find that grossly offensive?
I drive a citeron debut 0.9. And here are two blatently overpaid pansies running around for Norwich, picking up huge sums of money under false pretences. And do you know what? Neither of them are good enough to be professional footballers in my opinion. You can pick out two guys from non-league football who could play just as well as them, and put in far more effort. Hell, I swear to God, if I was fitter, I'd be better than Etuhu. And I'd play for half the wages he's getting.
And given what Waghorn said in his article this week, it's time these 'so called footballers' who are being paid far more than their worth were brought down a peg or two. Yes, some players are worth the money, but they are top class players. There are simply too many average players being overpaid with no incentive to 'go the extra mile' or be more ambitious. Why should they? They don't need the money - or they couldn't find anyone else willing to pay them more. Utter disgrace. I'll never forget Graham Taylor saying after he quit Watford for the second time - he basically said it was impossible motivating average Championship players on huge wages - why get promoted? The players know they can't play there - so he quit.
It's time contracts offered low basic salaries with huge bonuses to get them performing. That would weed out the lazy. And the crap. And the same should go for managers too.
