I'm genuinely mystified

by what NW really means or thinks when he says, "We've got to pass the ball better."

Has he actually watched or understood other teams that play proper passing football? Has he not noticed that after 6 years of his coaching not only do we not pass the ball well (or at all) but we don't even pretend or attempt to pass the ball. In fact, passing plays no real role in his system. We hoof it and hope for the lucky break. That's why we can't actually guarantee beating anyone, because whereas good teams playing well take the luck out of the game (or minimise its role) and so win more often than they lose, our style actually depends on luck and on out scrapping teams. Basically, we are the lowest common denominator.
